Third Year Projects

The third-year projects focused on the structural and spatial limitations.
Aurora Borealis Museum.

The museum at Churchill Manitoba near a marshy area.  It was inspired by the auroras of the northern sky.

Freemason Lodge.

This lodge had a decent amount of free site but there were themes of protection, suspense, and pure shapes in effect.

Shaker Barn Auditorium.

The shaker barn was the burned-down stone shell that was given to us as the shell to work on.  With its limitations, I managed to add a performance space, a banquet space and residential spaces in the same building.  The theme here was of spirits coming from the crevasse and shining down upon us while the form itself danced and curled in their presence.

Consulates.

The Chicago consulate was located at West Congress Parkway and South Plymouth Court. The plot of land is only 68' x 12'. Due to the small nature of the land, I decided to expand the initial base that was provided. The theme of the lotus was convergent due to the religious nature of the three countries, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
